About

THE DERMAL FILLER INJECTION PROCEDURE

The Dermal Filler Injection Procedure

After a thorough consultation, your injector will determine the best-suited product (or products) to meet your needs. They will then thoroughly cleanse the treatment area to prepare for injections. Some dermal fillers are formulated with lidocaine, but if this is not the case, a topical numbing cream can be applied to the area so the procedure is more comfortable. When this is complete, the injections will be performed in precise areas to achieve your goal results.

Dermal filler procedures can be completed quickly and require no downtime, so you can return to your normal routine immediately after your appointment if you choose. You may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising after receiving injections, which should quickly subside.

TYPES OF FILLERS

Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based filler that can be used for nonsurgical facelifts or to augment areas like the lips, cheeks, temples, jawline, chin, or nose. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that bonds to water to increase fullness in the treated area. There are several products within the Juvederm family, which all have slightly different formulas and consistencies suited to different purposes and treatment areas. This family of injectable dermal fillers includes:

  • Juvederm Voluma XC
  • Juvederm Volux XC
  • Juvederm Volift XC
  • Juvederm Volbella XC
  • Juvederm Vollure XC
  • Juvederm Ultra XC
Radiesse

Radiesse is used to increase volume, firmness, and elasticity in the skin, particularly to reduce wrinkles or folds as a nonsurgical facelift solution. Radiesse works by stimulating your own collagen production, making it a long-lasting injectable compared to other dermal filler injections. Its active ingredient is calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA).

Belotero

Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler. It was initially developed and approved to fill nasolabial folds, but now it can be used for multiple purposes. Belotero also produces a similar product called Belotero Volume, which is most often used to increase volume in the cheeks, temples, jawline, chin, nose, and lips. In addition, some patients have used Belotero to fill lines throughout the face (including the forehead or near the nose), correct under-eye bags, or treat acne scars.

"A friend recommended Dr. Chetty. He was incredibly knowledgeable. He wasn’t just focused on my concerns and treatments but about my overall health which impressed me. I had botox on my crow’s feet, 11’s and forehead. I was really happy to see how natural it looked. I was so impressed that I went on to have some filler on my marionette’s and under my eyes. Dr. Chetty is very meticulous and explains everything he is doing before and as he does it"
